Thank you for visiting the Marshmallow Archive website.

Here you will find a few things about the History of Marshmallows being sold.

The person that first sold marshmallows was:

Jeffery Charles

History: Jeffery actually started selling marshmallows when he was a child.  He would go door to door to sell the marshmallows to people in his neighborhood in the 1960's.

How the name of Marshmallow came about:

Jeffery came up with the name of marshmallow after his dog which is pictured with him below.  His dog was named marshmallow.  He loved the name so much he went to people's houses asking them if they wanted to buy marshmallows that he had.

Jeffery had a love of masrhmallows since he was a young child.  The picture below is him enjoying a marshmallow cake that his mom made him.  His favorite dessert was a marshmallow cake!

Jeffery has a twin sister.  Her name is Angela.  Angela and Jeffery are very close to this day and they work together to make ensure that marshmallows will continue to be made.  Angela did not like going door to door with Jeffery to sell the marshmallows.  However, she would go with him and pull the wagon that had all the marshmallows in them to sell for Jeffery.  If you look closely at her picture below on the left she is holding a marshmallow in her fingers.

Angela Charles

Angela Charles now runs a multi-billion dollar company called marshmallow fluff.  She tried to work with Jeffery in this company, but Jeffery wanted to concentrate on the actual complete marshmallow instead of just marshmallow creme.
